Earlier this week on my blog I released the 4th edition of my annual Top 10 Sex Toys Under $30 list, a curated roundup of some of the best budget-friendly sex toys out there. But today we’re gonna take it way back, and I’m actually going to be reviewing a toy that was on the second edition of that list, the Lovehoney Satisfy Me G-Spot Dildo.
So this video is going to come in two parts. I want to talk a bit about Lovehoney as a brand and some issues with them, and then I’ll get into the toy itself. If you only care about the toy review, I’ll throw a time code up on the screen and in the video description that you can skip to to get to that.
Now, when I made a video a few months back about my problems with the sex toy retailer Adam&Eve, I got a few comments from people asking the very valid question, what about Lovehoney? Don’t they have a lot of those same issues?
Some of you probably know that I have worked with Lovehoney on this channel and my blog since 2015. And yes, they do share many of the same problems I have with Adam&Eve. They carry a ton of toys made with unsafe materials and do little to nothing to try to educate their customers about material safety. They also market a lot of toys for anal use that do not have anal-safe flared bases.
And all of that sucks. I am not going to defend them about those things for a second.
The reason that previous video singled out Adam&Eve specifically is because they work with a ton of YouTube creators, especially people outside of the sex ed bubble who don’t know enough about sex toys to provide any sort of safety disclaimer.
So my hope was that people who watch those Adam&Eve unboxing videos and maybe some of the people who make those videos and don’t have this information might see my video in the Recommended section, get that education and disclaimer, and go on to buy safer toys and maybe talk to their audiences about these issues.
So my not including Lovehoney in that video was not an attempt to pretend that they’re not just as bad about some of those things, because they absolutely are. And the reasons that I have worked with them for so long, and continue to work with them to a smaller extent, are two-fold.
Firstly, and the thing that initially got me on board with them, was their return policy. For many years, Lovehoney had a 365-day, no questions asked return policy on all products. If you bought a sex toy and it didn’t work out for you, you could return it within a year for a full refund.
Nobody else in the industry does that, and there’s some reasons for that, but it definitely made it financially safer to invest in quality toys. Because when you’re toy shopping, it’s kind of hard to know if any given product is going to work for your body and your needs, so buying any sex toy is a bit of a gamble. And for a long time Lovehoney solved that problem.
Then in January of this year they changed their return policy. Now you can only get refunds on unopened items within 30 days. And they have something called their Sex Toy Happiness Guarantee where they will let you exchange a used toy for a different toy of similar value, also within 30 days.
Obviously that’s a big change from 365-day, no questions asked refunds, and I don’t know a lot about how the new Sex Toy Happiness Guarantee works. But they are still, to my knowledge, the only sex toy retailer that will let you send back a toy if it doesn’t work for you and help you try to find something that does.
The second reason that I have been willing to work with them for so long is that they’re pretty much the only truly international retailer who carries a lot of the body-safe toys I recommend. If you’re in the US or Canada or the UK and want to get your hands on, say, the We-Vibe Rave, there are a ton of different shops I can recommend. But if you’re in Turkey or Brazil or Hong Kong, Lovehoney is just about the only place I can refer you to.
So while I’ve cut back on how much I promote them — I haven’t actually done a review for them since 2016 — those are some of the reasons I do still keep them around as an affiliate. And I do feel more comfortable sending my audience there than I would with other creators sending their audiences just because I talk about toy safety constantly, so I feel like the people who watch me know what to look out for. Hopefully that makes sense.
With all that being said, today I’m going to review the Lovehoney Satisfy Me G-Spot Dildo. They didn’t send this to me, I got it secondhand from a friend. And I wasn’t even planning to do a review for it, until I used it the first time and it completely exceeded my expectations.
As I mentioned, this toy was on a previous edition of my budget sex toys list based on other people’s reviews of it. So I knew it was good. But I was still blown away by how well this thing works for me.
Visually, it’s a pretty basic-looking G-spotting dildo. It only comes in one color, pink, which… okay, I guess. (Sex toy companies frequently say that pink and purple toys sell the best, but I’m convinced that’s at least partially because they’re so often the only options available. Kind of a self-fulfilling prophecy, y’know?)
It’s technically double-ended, but I never use the straight end. The shape doesn’t really do anything for me, and the side ridges are a bit weird. But the bulbous end is everything. I don’t really know what to say about it. It’s just a very foolproof shape that gets right in there and massages the hell out of my G-spot, whether I’m thrusting it, clenching around it, or sort of rocking it up and down.
In my years as a toy reviewer, I have found two dildos that can give me actual G-spot orgasms: this $27 Lovehoney dildo and the $100 stainless steel njoy Pure Wand. And the Pure Wand is amazing, but if you’re on a budget or trying to find your G-spot for the first time to see if you even like that kind of stimulation, I think you know which toy I’m going to recommend.
Now if you are someone who is very acquainted with your G-spot and you know that you need or prefer really firm, unrelenting pressure on it, this might not be the best dildo for you. The silicone itself is pretty firm, but the middle of the toy does have some flex to it. So it’s harder to get the intense pressure with it that you can with a more rigid toy.
But in general I think this is a fantastic G-spotting dildo, and for under $30 it is an absolute steal.
