It’s that time of year again, when I shout out some of the best body-safe sex toys available for <$30. From a mix of small indie crafters and large mainstream manufacturers, I’ve curated a variety of inexpensive versatile vibes, hand-made butt plugs, niche kink gear, whimsical dildos, gender-neutral strap-on harnesses, and even a pressure wave clit stimulator for your perusal.
1. Blush Gaia Eco – $11.99 at SheVibe
Veteran toy reviewers will tell you that there is no “best” anything when it comes to sex toys. Every person’s needs and preferences are different, and what works amazingly for some people may be mediocre or even unpleasant for others. But I’m going to go out on a limb here and say that the Blush Gaia Eco has the best motor you can get in a $12 vibrator. This thing is surprisingly strong and rumbly, and it’s also made of a non-porous bioplastic that can be recycled at your local commercial recycling center.
2. Funkit Toys NoFrillDos – $24.00 at Early to Bed
Financial accessibility was the driving force behind the creation of Funkit’s NoFrillDos. Designed to be “the ‘Cup Ramen with Veggies and an Egg’ of dildos,” they are basic, cheap, and effective. You can get one for $24 at a bunch of retailers, or for a few bucks less if you’re willing to Roll the Dildice and get a random color, shape, or both direct from Funkit. I also know the dude behind the company, and he is an A+ human. Get your budget-friendly dildos and support an independent toymaker!
3. Pillow Talk Flirty – $29.99 at Peepshow Toys
BMS Factory has several lines of toys (Swan, Leaf, PalmPower), and I’ve always been impressed with the quality of their trademark PowerBullet motors. Pillow Talk is a newer line from the brand, featuring the same rumbles at a more affordable price-point. Flirty is their compact bullet-style vibe. It’s not a powerhouse, but it’s got respectable mid-range vibration strength, and if you’re looking for something with a touch of luxury for the price (it’s silicone-coated, rechargeable, and waterproof) this toy could be just the ticket.
4. Rock Candy Suga Daddy 5.5 Inch & 7 Inch – $22.99-$26.99 at SheVibe
Want a semi-realistic suction cup toy with some fun texture? Check out the Rock Candy Suga Daddy dildos! I was particularly excited when I squeezed one of these for the first time and realized that they’re actually a fair bit softer and more flexible than most other suction cup toys at this price-point. I wouldn’t quite call them squishy, but they do have some lovely bend and give to them.
5. Hole Punch Butt Plug – $18.00 at SheVibe
Artisanal (art-is-anal), small-batch butt plugs anyone? Made by hand in Minnesota, this namesake plug from Hole Punch Toys is simple, soft, and stimulating. Get it in orange at SheVibe for $18 or in a whole bunch of other fun colors for $21 at the Hole Punch site.
6. Blush Silicone Willy’s 7 Inch – $29.99 at SheVibe
Blush’s new Silicone Willy’s line is a welcome addition to the sex toy market: inexpensive flesh-tone realistic suction cup dildos! All of the non-vibrating styles are actually under the $30 mark, but the shape and size of their thick 7 Inch is particularly appealing to me.
7. Blush Temptasia Harness Strap-On Briefs – $24.00 at Peepshow Toys
Blush gets a third entry in this list because they’ve been absolutely killing it with their budget-friendly offerings in 2018. This underwear-style strap-on harness comes highly rated by blogger Betty Butch, who also notes that they’re planning to expand the current size range of S-XL up to 5X by the end of the year. Hell yes!
8. Doc Johnson Kink The Stinger Electro-Play Wand – $27.99 at SheVibe
If you’ve been curious about electrostimulation but don’t know where to start, Doc Johnson’s The Stinger is a great little intro wand! It’s extremely easy to use — just tap the button quickly for a light zap or hold it down for a more moderate jolt. It’s got a mean-looking spark and crack when it shocks the skin, but the pain is minimal. And it doesn’t leave any marks or cause muscle contraction, making it ideal for beginners or more casual kinksters. (As with all electroplay, keep it away from irritated/broken skin or metal jewelry and avoid the head, neck, and chest.)
9. Sportsheets Sex & Mischief Bed Bondage Restraint Kit – $27.99 at SheVibe
Another great beginner/casual kink tool is an under-the-bed restraint kit like the Sex & Mischief Bed Bondage Restraint Kit from Sportsheets. Simply slide the tethers under your mattress, pull the wrist and ankle cuffs out each end, and you’ve got a secure four-point restraint system without the need for bed posts or permanent mounts. The straps and cuffs are highly adjustable to fit a range of bed and body sizes, and when you’re done you can just toss the cuffs under the mattress as well until you’re ready to use them again. Super discreet!
10. Satisfyer 1 – $25.99 at SheVibe
Pressure wave clit stimulators have been all the rage for the past few years. If you want to try out this cool tech without breaking the bank, the Satisfyer 1 is a worthy introduction. It doesn’t have all the bells and whistles of some of the more expensive Satisfyer and Womanizer models (it takes AAA batteries and doesn’t get quite as powerful), but it could be a great test to see whether you like the pressure wave sensations without dropping a ton of cash.
So there we go! If you’d like to see even more options, I’ve got three years of previous lists you can view here. And if you’ve got any other inexpensive toy recommendations, definitely share them down in the comments!
